I ordered myself a book today that may help me on my quest to lose weight…especially the dreaded post-pregnancy belly. I was very proud of myself for losing all the weight I’d gained during my pregnancy but alas there is more weight to lose.
I forget what magazine I picked up at the grocery store..I think it was “FIRST” but anyways there was an article about this book and it was also featured on Oprah. The book is called “You: On a Diet” and it was co-authored by the doctor who is always on Oprah, Dr. Oz……it’s gotta work if Oprah has it on her show..right?

It’s suppose to be here on Wednesday so I will post my progress after I start reading it.
I gotta do something to get rid of this fat! I asked my husband to pick a date for us to go to the beach so I will have a goal time period. I don’t expect to ever be a skinny minny again but if I can shrink this belly even a little I will be happy. The thought of buying men’s jeans just to find a waist that doesn’t pinch me is not a happy concept for me. I did actually go out and buy some yesterday but they were the wrong cut…the waist fit great but the butt and hips hung off me because they were loose fit.
So anyway the plan is in motion………..we shall see what it entails….

Buster was found in the road as a young kitten by my Brother-in-Law. Seems like for awhile there my Brother-in-law was bringing animals to my mom’s quiete frequently. Buster looked almost all white and had the most beautiful blue eyes. As he got older you could see the yellow coming out and he was soon marked just like a Siamese. Someone once told me he looked like a Yellow Point Siamese but not sure that’s what he is.
The cute thing about Buster is ever since he was a little kitten he would nurse on everything or at least it appeared he was nursing. He would get his nose all close to you or the object and put his paws out front (looked just like a kitten nursing) and he would really concentrate too.
Buster is banished to the back yard these days since he pee’d in my closet. Not sure if something is wrong or he’s just decided to do that. I’ve hard sometimes older cats just decide not to go where they usually do. I need to take him to the vet on my next off day. He’s had trouble with his gums and teeth for years and had to have several pulled a few years ago. He’s getting old and I fear he won’t be around too many more years.

The weather has been so nice here lately that I’m really looking forward to spring. I went shopping (my usual past time) and got a few spring/summer shirts and shorts for the little boy. I was not really sure what size he’d been here in the next months but thought a few 18 month shirts will do for spring at least. I thought I’d be real thrifty and go to the local Kid’s Kloset sale which is twice a year and people sell their used infant to child clothes and things. I’d always heard great things about either the Kid’s Kloset or Kid’s Market which is also coming up so I thought I would check it out. I was so disappointed. I went on a day that everything was 25% off but either it was picked through or there just wasn’t the bargains I thought there would be. I looked in the 18 month size and all the little t-shirts etc were wore slap out and marked $4.00 (granted 25% would come but still). These were not even really name brand either…some were but others didn’t seem to be. I can go to Walmart and get little shirts for $3.50 BRAND NEW! There were a couple little dressy jumpers I liked since I’ve been shopping for an outfit for him to wear when I get his One Year Old Portrait made but even those were not much less than I could buy new at the local department store (the nice stores like Dillard’s etc). So I was disappointed with what they had this time but maybe I’ll try the Kid’s Market next month and see what they have.
I could also go ahead and submit some things to sell too. I still have all little boy’s clothes and these are all in good shape. I got a lot of things at my baby showers plus I love to shop so he has a lot of clothes. You would think in a family of 7 male child nephews all under 11 that there would be some good handme downs but no……..I think I got three or four outfits from my sister in law and they were wore out. I did get things like swings and bathtubs handed down to us but no clothes.
I just can’t seem to part with boys things yet though. Lord only knows if I’ll have another child so I guess I’m kinda holding on for a little while longer…just in case. Even if I had another and it was a girl I think I still have a lot of useable stuff. I think I even have a pair of girl’s baby shoes I bought the first time I got pregnant……of course those didn’t get used.
I guess though I am glad I didn’t get handme downs because you never know if you are suppose to give them back if they don’t say anything. I know my one sister in law will not have anymore children so I think I’m good there with the swing but maybe she wants to sell it….I guess I better ask. The Sister in law who gave me a bathtub did tell me she wants that back. Although she SHOULDN’T have any more kids it would not surprise me if she gets pregnant in the next year or so.
So I’ll keep on saving all boy’s things and filling up the closets and the garage until one day I decide to let them go.
